IX. Fame System Empty

FAME

FTA incorporates a fame system. The fame system determines quite a few things. For those that are familiar with the Fairy Tail anime or manga, you'll know that some mages are more popular than others. For example, the S-Rank mages Gildarts, Mirajane and Jura are all well known. Gildarts is known for his immense power, being Fairy Tail's most powerful mage, Mirajane is a top model as well as S-Class mage while Jura is a Wizard Saint. At the very least, every citizen in Magnolia will know of Gildarts, due to 'Gildarts Shift'. Mirajane is also considered the drawing card of Fairy Tail and is featured heavily in the Sorcerer's Magazine and Jura is, as mentioned before, a wizard saint.

The Fame System in FTA will determine how popular your character is. The higher 'fame' your character has, the more popular he is. Depending on whether your character is a good guy, bad guy or a neutral will also affect how people perceive you. If you are a good guy with a high fame, you are likely to be known as a hero. If you are a bad guy with a high fame, you are likely to be considered a dastardly villain. Also, do note that by no means does fame level affect your character's strength. It is merely how well known your character is. Your character could be an S-Rank and still be a complete unknown. Fame goes down with time. If you're really famous, but decide to stay in the shadows for the next decade, naturally, people will begin to forget about you.

E-Rank Fame (0-50FP): Normal people. Unless you knew them personally, you probably would pass these people on the street without a second thought. They are pretty much unheard of on a bigger scale.

D-Rank Fame (51-100FP): These people are probably well known in their local neighborhood. If you rack up a lot of D-Rank missions, you will gain a reputation as a helpful person. On the other hand, if you are a dark mage, you could be considered someone people will want to avoid.

C-Rank Fame (101-150FP): These people can now be considered local celebrities. In their respective town or village, they might be the hottest thing going, but they would still be relatively unknown outside of their town. If you are a dark mage, people will probably cross the street to avoid meeting with you.

B-Rank Fame (151-200FP): You are now well known throughout several places. At this stage, people you haven't even met before will begin to approach you, perhaps to ask for an autograph. In the case that you have followed a path of villainy, they will run away at the sight of you and you could be attacked by bounty hunters or Rune Knights.

A-Rank Fame (201-499FP): You are now famous throughout Fiore, and could be compared to some current day Hollywood A-Listers. People will look up to you as a role model. If you're in a dark guild, the Rune Knights could be working hard towards bringing you to justice.

S-Rank Fame (500FP): You are a legend. Your feats will follow you wherever you go. You could be known as a hero who saved countless towns or as a villain who can level villages with a snap of his fingers. You will go down in history as one of the most infamous/famous mages of all time.

IX. Fame System Empty
PostSubject: Re: IX. Fame System   IX. Fame System EmptyTue Apr 22, 2014 8:11 pm

There are several ways of obtaining fame. When you first join the forum, your character will automatically start with 0 fame, therefore having E-Rank fame. As a result, everyone will start out as a D-Rank with E-Rank fame. These are the KNOWN ways of obtaining fame. Fame may be a reward for other things as well later on in the RP.
  • You gain 1 fame for a D or C-Rank mission.
  • You gain 5 fame for doing a B rank mission.
  • You gain 10 fame for doing an A-Rank mission.
  • You gain 10 fame for doing a S-Rank mission.
  • You gain 25 fame for doing a 10 Year Job.
  • You gain 30 fame for doing a SS-Rank mission.
  • You gain 50 fame for doing a 100 Year Job.
  • You gain fame for appearing on Sorcerer's Magazine.
  • Your fame increases by 30 every time you rank up.
There are several other ways of obtaining fame such as representing your guild in events like the Grand Magic Games. Also, some missions (plot missions that can only be done once) will reward extra fame.

BENEFITS OF FAME
If you've read this far, then you're probably thinking 'fame is good and all, but how exactly does it help me?' right? Don't worry, I'll explain it to you now. If you've been paying attention, you should know that fame is essentially how well known your character is. Some very big name missions may have a fame requirement (think about it, would you want a well known mage or a nobody doing a dangerous mission?). There is also a fame requirement to be a Wizard Saint or Devil. The higher your fame level is, the more likely you to gain one of these prestigious titles.

Well, there are more advantages to having a high amount of fame, I assure you. But it ruins the fun if I just tell you now. Get out there, roleplay and find out the benefits for yourself!
